- This delegate is presenting an abstract at this event.
Miguel Perez-Enciso is a Biologist by training that has developed his career in the area of Animal Breeding and genetics, primarily in methodological developments and applications to pig breeding. He has developed an eclectic career and has made numerous contributions to a wide array of topics, from optimizing selection response with a constraint in inbreeding to sophisticated Bayesian methods, QTL and microarray analyses. He is currently working actively in the applications of NGS technologies, both RNAseq and genome resequencing. His current work encompasses both method and experimental approaches, the latter being focused in pig and Iberian pig genetics. Some examples are the snape-pooled software for SNP calling in pools, a comprehensive analysis of the Iberian pig genome or optimizing experimental design for NGS based studies.
